Provide 'Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum' in your child care program

CCEI's August Newsletter is to provide early care educators with the information needed in order to instill a Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum in their child care environment. The main goal behind a developmentally appropriate classroom is to close the so-called achievement gap before it has a chance to widen. Educators must take it upon themselves to determine whether their programs reflect current, research-based "best practices." There is a good chance these practices will change or evolve in years to come, since major long-term research is always ongoing. View the linked newsletter for more information on making your child care program's curriculum and activities as developmentally appropriate and educational as possible.
