Culinary Education Online Training for Child Care

July is National Culinary Arts Month, and a time to celebrate and explore food preparation and cooking processes. Teaching young children how to prepare food promotes healthier eating habits throughout their lives, as well as a number of the activities important to children’s education, such as gathering needed materials and measuring ingredients accurately. Additionally, preparing one’s own food promotes self-sufficiency and the desire to try new things. Cool Cooking, CCEI's trial course at no-cost to new users in July, explores preparing food as a classroom activity and focuses on activities that require little to no heat. This one-hour online course gives educators training to instruct and lead basic culinary activities in the early childhood setting. Current students with active, unlimited subscriptions can enroll in this course at no additional cost when logged in to their CCEI account.
